An ADD Planner template task is a task or project in the Project View that has been saved to the ADD Planner Template subdirectory. You can create your own template tasks or use ones created by other ADD Planner users. You work with template tasks in the Project View.
This section covers two topics:
Adding a Template Task
Saving a Template Task
Adding a Template task
- To add a template task in the Project View, click on "Projects" or on an existing task in the view.
- Execute the Add a Template Task command by any of these methods:
- With the cursor on "Projects" or a task, click the right mouse button and select Add a Template Task.
- Select Tasks | Add a Template Task on the Menu bar.
- Click the Add a Template Task icon ("yellow document with plus sign") on the Toolbar.
You will now see the Load Template Task dialog (which will contain different tasks than those shown).
- Click on the name of the task you want to add and hit OK. The task and all its subtasks will now appear in the Project View under either "Projects" or the task you selected.
Saving a Template task
- To save a project as a template task, click on an existing task in the Project View. It can be a single task, the top of a project tree, or a branch of a project.
The name of the task you select becomes the name of the template task.
- Save the task by any of these methods:
- With the cursor on the task, click the right mouse button and select Save as a Template Task.
- Select Tasks | Save as a Template Task on the Menu bar.
- Click the Save as a Template Task icon ("yellow document with down arrow") on the Toolbar.
The task and all its subtasks are now saved and can be added to the Project View with the Add a Template Task command.
