This section covers the following topics:
ADD Planner performs a task-level merge of the PC and Pocket PC .apf files. The ADD Planner Synchronization Module synchronizes all ADD Planner files in the directory you choose.
Open Microsoft ActiveSync, and click on the Options button. Choose the "Sync Options" tab, and check "ADD Planner Files".
Choose a Synchronization Directory. Click the Settings button. You will see the default directory for ADD Planner synchronization. If you want to change this, click on the button to the right of the directory name, and choose an existing directory. When you save a file in ADD Planner to this directory, it will be automatically sync'ed with the Pocket PC.
Note: Simply copying an existing file to the synchronization directory doesn't work; a file has to be saved from ADD Planner for it to be synchronized.
Connect your Pocket PC to its cradle and run synchronization.
Open ActiveSync and click on Explore. You should see the new file on the Pocket PC. If you don't, select View | Refresh in the Mobile Device window to refresh the display.
If you do not see the file appear on the Pocket PC, save it again, and synchronize.
Backups of the most recently sync'd files are available in the Backup subdirectory. The Backup subdirectory is under the synchronization directory (C:\ADDPlannerFiles\Backup is the default). When ADD Planner synchronizes the files from the PC and Pocket PC, it saves the original versions in the Backup subdirectory as PC_BACKUP_filename.apf and CE_BACKUP_filename.apf
If a task exists on both platforms, the task that was edited most recently is included in the merged file.
After synchronization completes, ADD Planner reloads the newly-merged versions of the .apf files. The new file reloads without prompting by default. If you want to be prompted, change the setting on the Tools | Options dialog. (See Configuring Auto-Save.)
