ADD Planner 1.5.0 Release Notes
The ADD Planner Release Notes have two sections:
New/Improved Features
Known Issues
Please check both sections for important information about this release of ADD Planner.
ADD Planner 1.5.0 includes these new and/or improved features:
- A Daily Plan built into the software
-
The Daily Plan contains tasks and activities that are known to help ADD people
have greater focus. Most tasks include links to the ADD Planner website for more information. You can modify the Daily
Plan to match your needs, or include activities from the Daily Plan in your own ADD Planner file.
- Tooltips display notes
-
When you mouse-over a task, the tooltip shows the task name and notes for the task.
-
Unschedule tasks
-
You can now clear the date and time fields from a task.
-
Time advances in the Appointment grid
-
The time slots displayed in the Appointment grid advance every hour through the day so you always see the current time and next few hours.
- Customized program colors
-
You can now set the colors of the ADD Planner display.
- New "Errands" category icon
-
You can now mark errands with a little red car icon.
-
Default reminder text
-
When you add a reminder, the default reminder text is the task name.
-
New Outlook import filter
- When you import tasks from Outlook into ADD Planner, you can now specify the date before which no Outlook data is imported.
- New repetition options
-
-
You can now set tasks to repeat every n number of days/weeks/months/years.
-
PDA synchronization
-
The default PDA synchronization directory for both Pocket PC and Palm is now My Documents. You can only synchronize one ADD Planner .apf file to a PDA.
-
Improved online help
-
The online help has been reorganized to make it easier to use.
-
Printable ADD Planner help manual
-
ADD Planner help is now available as a printable manual. The file is Planner.pdf, located in Program Files\Wolf in the Moon Software\ADD Planner\Planner.pdf.
ADD Planner 1.5.0 has these known issues:
- Unschedule
- The Unschedule button clears the Date, Start Time and End Time fields. If the task had been
previously saved, it will now appear only in the Project View (whether it was originally created in the Project
View or not). However, if the task is a repeating task, it will continue to be shown in the Daily Tasks List and
Project View as a repeating task.
-
Outlook import/export overwriting
-
When the same task exists on both Outlook and ADD Planner, the data that is
imported or exported overwrites the destination data, even if the destination data is newer than what is exported or imported.
-
Outlook import limitations
- ADD Planner correctly imports individual tasks, and tasks that repeat daily, weekly,
monthly (by date only), and yearly. However, ADD Planner may not correctly import tasks that repeat bi-weekly or
monthly by day of the week (i.e., it may not handle "every third Thursday" correctly, for example).
-
Appointments cannot span midnight
- If you try to set an appointment that begins before midnight and ends after
midnight, ADD Planner will fill the entire day with that one appointment.
-
Right-click menu and subtasks
- You cannot use the right-click menu to add a subtask to a scheduled task. You must use the Tasks | Add a Task command or the Add Task icon instead.
-
Weekly task filtering on a PDA
-
When showing the Tasks lists on a PDA, the weekly filter option does not work correctly. You must use the monthly filter option to filter out tasks that repeat weekly.
-
Palm OS update
-
If you install ADD Planner 1.5.0 for Palm OS over an earlier version, you should click
"Yes to All" when asked if you want to replace an existing file with one from ADD Planner 1.5.0. There are two
files that are replaced; the second "old" file appears to be identical to the second "new" file. However, if you
choose to replace the first file and not the second file, you may see the surprising error message
"ADD Planner for Palm OS 1.5.0 should cause errors." (No, it shouldn't.)
-
Palm limitations
-
-
Only the Project View and the Daily Tasks List run on the Palm.
- The Daily Tasks List does *not* integrate with the Palm datebook or to do list, because the ADD Planner supports multiple reminders and the Palm doesn't. (If we integrated them, you would either generate a separate Palm task for each reminder, or the ADD Planner task would lose all but one reminder.)
- Only one .apf file can be sync'ed with the Palm. (See "Palm PDA HotSync Conduit Setup" in the online help for more information.)
